Why? Why I ask you? I ended up in a double as a single. They now email me asking if I'd be content to move into a single single. I said I'd rather stay in my room with a roommate. But nooooooooooooo. They will not GIVE me a roommate. I have to ASK for one. And it has to be MUTUAL. I understand the mutual part. But why not stick a transfer with me? Hmm? I'm sure there are plenty of those who just don't have roommates! People coming into Berry without a roommie.
You would imagine, or at least I would, that Berry would simply be happy to shove someone else in the room, thus having more paying students. But alas, NO! WHY? I am pissed off to say the least. I WANTED a roommate. I really did. The person I WAS going to live with backed out on me less than a week before room selection. Rude and she lied to me. Unforgivable.
Now? For my Senior Year I'll be stuck all by my lonesome in a room! I WANT a roommate. How hard is that to understand? I told them anyone would be fine. >< But nooo, I must request someone who then must request me. And then I might get that person as a roommate. If you know of anyone PLEASE let me know. I don't see why I couldn't just be on the list for someone who wanted to change rooms if anything else didn't work.
Berry College will not let me have a roommate. My room is big enough. I never thought that with them forcing everyone ON campus that I would not be allowed a roommate...that is the weirdest thing I've ever heard! >< I want to stay in ML and I WANT a roommate. It's bad enough the first floor will be freshman. But to not allow a Senior student who WILLINGLY chose to live on campus their entire time there to not have a roommate? COME ON! Get on with it! Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!?!
I just don't understand it. They contacted me, I got my hopes up. Then they let me down harshly. Of course Berry can't do ANYTHING the easy way. Of course not. They are rude and insensitive. They are not patient and simply must have things their way. I even worded things as politely as I could...how hard would it be to help them out and give me a roommate?
Right now I am very pissed at Berry...and Residence Life in particular...

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. But don't be too hard on Residence Life. They have to do certain things, but they don't make the rules. Some other genius is in charge of that.
ReplyDeleteI've talked to the lovely residence life people multiple times. And the same result occurs. I'm offering them extra space for one more person. Why is that such a bad thing?
ReplyDeleteI go to Berry too and I had the same issue with the room selection (myself and 3 other friends were going to get a townhouse, but one girl backed out 30 minutes before one of our group's number was called) and I think it's ridiculous. I over heard about how apparently there's not enough space to house freshman, so I don't know why they won't give you a roommate without asking.
